Hi there! And back again!

It's been a while so I thought I had better update people on what's new in Fortaleza and with Fortaleza Adventure.
First of all, there is a new address where you can reach the main webpage for Fortaleza Adventure.
It's very simple...www.fortalezadventure.com.
The page is somewhat different and better than the original page but still contains all the useful information as does our first page.
OceanviewGraphics is responsible for the page and I want to thank Young Norman for all the work.
You can check out the page and let me know your thoughts...whether you find what you need or not.

As far as Fortaleza itself is concerned, the Mayor, Luzianne, was re-elected, and in the months leading up to the vote, re-paved a lot of city streets that were badly in need of re-surfacing. Many will recognize this as an old political trick from North America as well. There are STILL many that need to be added to the list for the future, but she DID make a stab at prolonging the life of my car's suspension!
As I already mentioned, there is no more music along Beira Mar, but we'll just have to live with it.

It appears there are no more lots available for condo development along Beira Mar now. The last couple have already started breaking ground or at least have closed their sales offices. You might still be able to buy from an agent working for one of those that were original purchasers and are willing to do a "flip".

The number of lojas, or stores, on Beira Mar selling tourist items as part of the market which sets up each evening and breaks down again at midnight, has grown with more being added to each side of the original marketplace. Many of the new vendors set up tables and sell their wares from there.

The city has seen quite an increase in tourist traffic during the season beginning with Natal (Christmas) and about to end with Carnaval! The beaches have been really busy and the people that I have talked with who make their living from the tourist trade are happy.

My feeling is that there are more people coming for a look at Fortaleza as a possible permanent getaway from the financial trials of North America.
This is aided by more flights to the city through our beautiful Pinto Martins International Airtport. Delta now comes to Fortaleza from Atlanta, although not directly. The flight touches down in Recife and then on to Fortaleza after a one and a half hour station stop. The return, however, is direct from Fortaleza to Atlanta.
In addition there are more flights from Europe coming to Fortaleza.

I find that now, there are far fewer apartments and flats to rent, at least during the High Season, so if you are planning a visit, better to do it early and arrange your accomodations well in advance.
Fortaleza Adventure can find all types of accomodation depending on the advance notice.

I have a Canadian friend, Wade, who has built a beautiful house in the Beach Park area. He and his Brazilian wife, Vania, want to move back to the west coast of Canada for a while so the house is on the market. I'm adding a photo or two for you.

If you would like more information or to see more photos, please email and I'll see that you get in touch with Wade. There is no agent involved...you would be dealing directly with the owner.
I am also adding a few photos of a flat to rent on Abolisao in Meireles. It will give people that don't have experience with flats an idea of what to expect. This particular flat does not face the ocean, but for that reason, is less expensive than those that do. That the ONLY difference between this flat and those that face the ocean in this building!

If you wish more information on this flat or accomodations in general, please email and I will provide.
It is about a degree warmer at this time of year than in July or August and the breeze doesn't blow as hard.
There is also the morning showers on some days as we travel through our rainy season, which is really not much.
That's about it for now, but keep coming back and I'll update again soon.
Tchau for now!
